Create my profile now!This is a very good English single barrel shotgun made C1840. It has a 35” steel barrel & measures 52 ½” overall. The barrel’s smooth bore has just light staining consistent with age and use. The barrel has a small bead fore sight and the top of the action has a shallow groove which acts as a rear sight. It has an undamaged walnut stock with chequered panels at the wrist and fore stock. The fore stock has a polished horn end cap. A void silver disc is inlaid on the under side of the shoulder stock. It has a steel butt plate with extended tang. The action, trigger guard with extended tang & Pineapple finial & steel hammer, all have foliate engraved decoration. There are no maker marks on the shotgun. The underside of the barrel has English proofs and is marked with calibre detail ‘11’ (bore). It’s cocking and firing actions work crisply.
