DEACTIVATED INERT. This is an unfired British WW2, 1943 dated unfired 2 Inch Practice (high explosive) mortar The mortar consists of original WW2, 1943 dated steel mortar body which is stamped lightly round their circumference 2” MOR 1 S.E.I.L. 3/43 (March 1943 date). The mortors were fitted with new tailfins and charges in 1950 and reissued for use. The pressed steel fin assembly is spot welded onto the tailfin and is stamped ATELOR 1/50 (January 1950 date) and No5. The steel screw on nose cap is stamped CA/C 1944 (1944 date) 1-77 No1 IS.
