INERT DEACTIATED. This is a Dutch made 25mm (25x137) all alloy dummy/drill round for the M242 Bushmaster chain gun and Oerlikon-Contraves KBA machine gun used in the U.S. Army M2/M3 series Bradley Fighting vehicles. The ammunition uses a annular link positioning groove below the neck of the cartridge case to positon the two piece M28 steel cartridge link. The groove in the case is expanded out on firing. This alloy round is made in one piece and has an anodised pale silver finish. The round is headstamped EMZ indicating Dutch manufacture by Eurometaal Zandam and 92 (19923 manufacture date). The projectile part of the round is stamped round its circumference 25MM EXCEG NR232C1 on one side and EXC on the other. There are 2 8mm cross drilled holes through the cartridge case to illustrate it is hollow ad inert. The round is fitted with a M28 25mm cartridge link which is a two-piece hardened steel assembly (main and pivot links) intended to hold and link the ammunition to guide the round through the weapon system.
