Create my profile now!A private purchase German WWI trench knife (a trench knife is a combat knife designed to kill or incapacitate an enemy at close quarters, such as in a trench or other confined area. It was developed as a close combat weapon for soldiers attacking enemy trenches during the First World War) with a stunning horn grip *minor damage to horn near base of grip as seen in image 2* and ‘S’ shaped quillon above ferrule and below pommel which appear to be German silver, as do the scabbard mounts on the leather scabbard. The single edged blade is 11 ¾ cm long (23 ½ cm overall). See ‘German Combat Knives 1914-1945’ pages 9-26 by Christian Mery for similar examples. The price includes UK delivery. ED 2685.
