Create my profile now!Thomas Turner was an English gunmaker working in London, recorded as having premises at 19 Brook Street 1884-91 & 172 New Bond Street for just 1 year 1892-93 (see page 209 of British Gunmakers Vol.1 by Brown). This is a quality made sporting shotgun by Thomas Turner made at his New Bond Street premises 1892-93. It has 27” Damascus steel barrels. The barrels, set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib and bead foresight. The rib is signed by the maker ‘Thomas Turner 172 New Bond Street London. It has its original walnut stock in excellent condition with ribbed butt and double triggers. The wrist & fore stock have chequered panels and the underside of the stock has an inlaid void escutcheon. The action has quality tooled decoration. The action in front of the top lever is signed 'Thomas Turner'. The shotgun is number 5872. Deactivated to UK / EU specification in 2024 the weapon’s top lever break action opens the breech, its safety catch slides and its triggers move.
