This is a rare original BSA Improved Model presentation Air Rifle. These rifles were made between 1906 and 1907 (see Chapter 3 of The Book Of The BSA Air Rifle by Milewski). It has its original pistol grip wood stock with correct chequered panels on the grip. The stock is impressed with BSA’s piled arms trademark and is stamped ’14 ¼’ (inches stock length). The wood has light bumps and bruises consistent with age and use. It has a steel butt plate. One side of the stock has a nice engraved presentation plate which is illustrated in image 1. The cocking arm is the bayonet type and has the correct Lincoln Jeffries patent. The loading tap lever has ‘P.Pat’ and correct improved model loading aperture and tap. It has a 19 ½” rifled barrel. The bore is clean with typical light rifling. It has a blade foresight and adjustable dial rear sight. The metal work has even patina throughout. The left side of the weapon bears serial number 12670. Number 2259 is on the underside of the barrel. The cylinder has BSA manufacturer detail correctly without reference to improvement. The loading port is marked ‘Load’ and has BSA’s piled arms trademark. The rifle loads & fires crisply. The price includes UK delivery. AI 900
