A very rare Medieval Main-Gauche or left hand dagger, probably Saxon, German circa 1600-1650. Two slightly down drooping short cross-guards fitted with an integral side-ring counter guard. The blade with re-inforced section at the forte. Large ovoid pommel. Grip of leather and still retains its original iron re-enforcing bands at top and bottom of the grip. In very good overall condition. Blade length 11 inches. Length 15 inches overall. This is an exceptional and classic Medieval Main-Gauche dagger.
