The binoculars measure 5 ¾” X 4 ¼” and have a black textured finish, with adjustable bakelite eyepieces (one has a small stable chip to the edge). The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars fitted with original leather neck strap. All optics are good and function as they should. The right shoulder of the binoculars is crisply stamped with graticule detail together with 1917 date, WD arrow and maker’s name ‘Kershaw & Son Ltd Leeds’. The left shoulder is crisply stamped with ‘Binocular Prismatic No3 MK II, Magnification 6’ detail together with 'No.31530'. All lettering is highlighted in original white paint (illustrated). The binoculars retain all of their original black finish. They are contained in their fitted hard body leather case with hinged lid and retaining strap with buckle. The case is clean. The left & right sides of the case have leather tabs fitted with adjustable leather shoulder strap. The rear has 2 belt loops. The hinged lid has maker detail ‘JAJ & Co’, ‘1916’ date designation ‘Case No2 Prismatic Binocular’ and name ‘P.G. Geary’ most likely the officer who owned these binoculars. The body has WD broad arrow mark. The price for this nicely marked pair of WW2 dated binoculars worthy of further research regarding the officer’s name includes UK delivery. OPT 802
