This is a very well preserved tunic which tells an interesting story of its wearer’s career.
An army officer (bearing the silver bullion eagle on his sleeve), decorated for his Eastern Front activity with the Ost Medaille (as indicated by the ribbon on the button seam), then possibly wounded and transferred away from the frontline to serve in an office of the SD (see shoulder boards and arm badge.)
This we think would have been a tunic he received in that new post, it bears period replacement armband and SD badge to back this up.
The studs inside the collar, the lining and pocket watch strap, clasp and pocket and other details are all present and correct.
~ Dimensions ~
The length of the tunic is 29 inches (74 cm), the waist (flattened) is 16.5 inches (42 cm), the length from shoulder to shoulder is 18 inches (46 cm) and the sleeve length is 25 inches (64 cm).
The jacket weighs 1.46 kg.
~ Condition ~
The garment is in excellent condition for its age.
There is one small moth hole on the right shoulder (pictured) the moth damage has been halted successfully.
All badges and buttons have slightly worn corners/edges, as expected for its age.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £25, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.
