Create my profile now!An original WWI German Trench Knife and Metal Scabbard (A trench knife is a combat knife designed to kill or incapacitate an enemy at close quarters, such as in a trench or other confined area. It was developed as a close combat weapon for soldiers attacking enemy trenches during the First World War. An example of a World War I trench knife is the German Army's Nahkampfmesser (close combat knife). This is a smooth handle variant. The smooth wooden grips are secured with three rivets *service wear to the tip on both sides*. The single edged, polished steel blade measures 5 ½" and has a "Z" inside a crest indicating manufacture by Clement & Jung stamped on the ricasso on one side, and an inspection stamp to the other. The scabbard is steel and is missing its leather strap which was riveted to it and incorporated a belt loop. The price includes UK delivery. 8424:45.
