A reference mark is separately inserted into each eyepiece. The operator first adjusts the direction of the range finder so that the fixed mark is centred on the target, and then the prisms are rotated until the mark appears to overlap in the operator's combined view. The range to the target is proportional to the degree of rotation of the prisms. The range finder was manufactured by Barr & Stroud Ltd under a British WD contract for WWII and is contained in its purpose built Barr & Stroud internally padded stowage box *damage to one end of the box*. The green leather bound unit with grey metalwork is in very good condition for its service. There are two brass plaques on the rangefinder; French & Dutch Patterns and Barr & Stroud Glasgow Ltd London. The webbing shoulder strap, eyepiece and other original accessories are included in the box. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 20323.
