Fashioned from a rapier and now with a shortened rapier blade. The hilt utilising the original rapier guard and forming a left-hand dagger with a full hand-guard. The cross-guards having being removed. Large ovoid pommel. Original grip of wood still retains its original iron re-enforcing bands at top and bottom of the grip. In good overall condition. Blade length 15 inches. The makers name - X GIO XX GUILEM XX HEISER XX EN XX ALLEMANIA stamped in the fullers. (The blade maker from Germany) Length 22 inches overall. This is an unusual type of construction for a Main-Gauche dagger with very interesting blade makings. Ref 3469.
