A rare British military 1859 pattern Cutlass bayonet, complete in its correct leather scabbard. Manufactured for the Enfield percussion rifle circa 1859-1860. Solid iron half basket hilt with the integral muzzle ring and a single edged steel blade approx 27 inches in length. The blade makers mark is A & E.H. A very scarce weapon. Overall length in scabbard is 33.5 inches. The leather grips are like new. In very good overall condition. An untouched sleeper in superb condition. This pattern British bayonet are documented to have been exported and used by the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. (1861-1865). Ref 3771.
