Create my profile now!This is an excellent German WW2, 1941 dated K98 infantry rifle by Mauser with matching serial numbers including the stock together with a matching numbers K98 bayonet by E.u.F. Horster. The rifle and bayonet retain all of its original woodwork and metalwork and most of their original blued finish. The rifle has the serial number 6963 stamped on the breech, barrel and the stock together with various acceptance stamps. The rifle was made by Mauser and the breach is stamped 41 (1941 date) byf (Mauser-Werke KG, Oberndorf on the Neckar). The stock is in excellent condition with only minor bumps and knocks. The metalwork retains most of its blued finish. The rifle has a block & blade foresight with the hooded protector, adjustable rear sight, bayonet slide, cleaning rod & leather sling. The rearsight and some of the rifles inspections marks still have the original pale yellow highlights. The matching numbers bayonet is made by E.u.F.Horsterand and most if its original blued finish. The bayonet is stamped on the ricasso E.u.F.Horster together with the serial number 8272 which is also stamped on the scabbard stud. The scabbard is stamped at the throat 42 (1942 date) agv (Berg & Co, Solingen-Ohligs). . Both the scabbard and the bayonet are in excellent condition and retain most if their original blued finish. The bayonet grips are undamaged. The rifle was deactivated to UK specification in 2008. The rifles bolt cocks, the rifle dry fires and inert rounds can be put in the magazine.
